Attended my very first yoga outdoor organised by Shape, in a park. Bishan Park to be
precise.

It wasn't their first time organizing such activities. In 2012, they had it by the
sea at East Coast Park (Oct 2012). The plus point of 2012 over 2013 is their
freebies! They give free Reebok mat worth $39.90 last year! hmmmpff. Luckily, Jing
Xian lent me hers, if not I would need to buy one and maybe it will be a white
elephant after this event.
Hubby drove me over, after a small mind struggle if I should attend the event since
Emme was running a fever at 2am. It was drizzling when we reached. Mumbling to
myself, "siao liao, the mud will be soggy, later will be disgusting to the
max".
Many turned up and had already secured their seat by the time I reached, not
dampened by the weather when I was. We were supposed to registered ourselves before
the commencement of the yoga, but somehow they changed their mind (probably due to
the weather). So Meiping and I went to scout for a prime lot and parked ourselves.
Thank godness, the mat was thick enough without holes! Zero direct contact with the
muddy field.
While waiting for the commencement, we spotted this tentage of Yoga Instructors.
Most of them are made in India. Not long after, the yoga started. I love the female
instructor. Pea-brained me is unable to remember her name (nothing unusual). She
said things like "There are so many snakes in Bishan Park" or "There are so many
birds in Bishan Park" (while doing cobra and pigeon yoga poses). Her instructions
were precise and clear.
As it is not my first time doing yoga, I would say that it is slightly more
challenging to do yoga on uneven floor. Or maybe my balancing just sucks that day.
At one point in time, I lost my balance when I attempted to act smart to try out the
advanced variation. An Indian instructor helped me -.-" Despite that, I'm actually
rather amazed that I was able to do pigeon pose (like a bird) without
much difficulties! *self proud*
Took a photo of cooling sky while in dead man pose. No scorching sun, just natural
breeze.
A peaceful Sunday it is.
The workout lasted for 75 good minutes.
To sum up: It was a great workout (I have plenty of muscle aches the
next day)! A great experience too! But I'm not a nature person, but a total city
girl.
I was busy monitoring the movements of the ants in the grass, ensuring the spider
that jumped across a girl's mat won't come over or shifting the slipper to support
my leg when we need to work out beyond the mat.
