Busy Queen Bee (Part 1)

Been extremely busy since Father's Day, thus the lack of updates!

Father's Day

Burned calories early in the morning via Pocari Sweat Run (10km)! Not a bad run, although time was still disappointing. Did I forget to say that the water points were fantastic? More than enough Pocari Sweat drink to refuel our dehydrating system!

Then we visited hubby's maternal grandparents. There was no fan at their place! Hence, Emme was whining hard due to the hot weather, but she settled down soon after (my baby girl grew up! yay!). Hanged out awhile then before setting off to Nex's Swensens for Kelly's advanced birthday celebration. See! I told you I was busy! Right?

Our little imp koala-bearing on her great grandmother!

So at Swensens now. Did our usual practice, parked Emme's stroller at one person lot at our table. Guess what the little imp did! She reached out both her hands, paws clinged on the table, wanting to climb up! Did she just attempted to hint to us that she wanted to sit up like the adults? Yes, she did! Being extremely excited about her going to be sitting on the baby chair the very first time (public somemore), we requested for the baby chair! And she gladly sat in it, self-entertained =D

This little rascal of ours is hard to please. Soon after she was done entertaining herself, she whined hard. Mummy instinct told me that she was sleepy.

    Sleepy Emme
+  Very cold air con
+  Insufficient clothings (she's in romper only! haha, the celebration was last minute, i guess I won't be blamed)

Uncomfortable Emme = Unable to fall asleep = Rowdy Emme! See, so simple to determine her mood swing! HAHA. If I am this simple, hubby won't be having so much of a headache! *twisted fingers*

The smart mummy decided to use daddy's jacket and wrapped the little rascal like a dumpling before patting her to sleep.

TADAH!

Emme was asleep! *Proud mummy*

Real Run 2013

After missing one year of Home Team Real Run, I'm back in action, with the hubby! Participated Real Run since 2008, this year was something new! Instead of the usual month of October/November, it was brought forward to May this time round. And the venue changed! SENTOSA!

Participated 10km race and having the mindset that it wouldn't be as bad as Run 350 which me and hubby literally walked after 6km. I WAS WRONG! Endless uphills, narrow roads (at some points) and beach! I walked like a duck at the beach, cos' I refused to let sand entering my five fingers! In the end, we walked ALOT! See slopes, we walked. See sand, we walked. #loser

I realised I usually fair badly in new routes, this wasn't the first time (though it was the worst so far). And with the hubby. Totally bo discipline to challenge myself! Oh well, we'll try harder next time. After all, we did complete the race(s), right?

Us after the run ♥

My wound on my left knee didn't got better after two weeks. How sad. I realised that it was "leaking" pus when I was resting on a bench at the bus stop. I have zero idea how to survive Friday's Half Marathon.

Despite the tiredness, I felt energetic after reaching home and hung out with the little one. Dug out and filtered the contents of the party pack from Alston's first birthday. Other than the clapper (not sure of its proper name) and mask, the rest weren't baby safe so I trashed them. The curious baby ate the clapper as if its an ice cream stick!

Wasn't she cute with her new style? My mother exclaimed that I was torturing her poor granddaughter! Hmmmpf!

Nike She Run Singapore 2013 + Cindy's Hens Night

Did another marathon - Nike She Run 5K Singapore.

Nike She Run5k  Singapore

It was actually quite a disappointment, despite the fact that I completed the run at one of my personal best (its not hard to beat my personal best, haha, I'm a slow coach). After delivery, I did my first race, I took 45 mins. -.-" A speed that one can beat by just walking (maybe brisk walking).

Some thoughts on the race..

1. The location of the event was rather hard to reach.

2. The shuttle service was strictly for participants only. I saw an official "dragging" a father and his daughter off the shuttle queue. I always thought that the government is encouraging women to lead a healthier lifestyle. Asking their partners and/or family members to encourage in such activities should be very heart-warming. But this apparently doesn't happen.

3. Since hubby was unable to board the bus, we kill the thought of continuning to queue and quarrel with the shuttle marshals. I suggested that he might be able to ask for walking directions from the marshal. We targeted the one who "dragged" the father out. To our horror, his reply was that he was not sure and the only clue he gave was we have to walk past the bridge. Thank goodness, we have iPad as navigator.

4. Before the race, we strolled approximately 2km to the race village. I was mentally and phyiscally exhausted. Security was implemented for the race due to the recent Boston Marathon incident. I passed my bag to hubby, so he was checked, not me =P

5. The race was supposed to flag off at 6.00 and 6.10pm (2 waves). I reached the start pen slightly before 6.00pm, in time for the supposed first wave. I waited and waited, glazing at females from all walk of life. Sue me for being conservative, I couldn't really accept the idea of people wearing faked eyelashes or substantial amount of makeup during exercise. My run started at 6.25pm after 5 maybe 6, actually I don't know how many waves.

6. The road was too narrow to handle 8000 participants. I had to ninja hop to overtake. At one point, I misjudged and FELL! Hope I didn't cause the girl in front of me to fall too. I was rather sad, cos' it was my first ever fall out of ALL my runs. Still, I picked myself up and continue the run as per normal before the pain kicks in. Oh, this world does have angel, a short hair girl helped me up and asked if I was alright. *touched*

Wounded right elbow and both knees

7. We have to walk like 5 to 10 minutes to the finisher tee collection point from the ending point. I was semi-limbing due to the wounds on the knee cap. Apart from the finisher tee, they gave out a can of 100plus, mineral water and banana. Quite a filling welfare when come to this part though.

Here's my result.

Post run photos. I looked uberly fat here.
With Jing Xian. It was her first race. ((:

Hubby! Poor thing waited for an hour plus. Love you max max!

All in all, I prefer running in the day than night, cos' I can see better and clearer. Hope I can survive in upcoming Sundown 21K. My back is hurting badly now.

Rushed home, washed up and headed for Cindy's hens night at Clarke Quay. It was fun! Seeing her all up for all the challenges entertained us fully. Its an eye opener for me. Many groups of men were very spontaneous and proactive!

Happy for you, my friend! Finally you will be marrying your dream guy after all the hiccups that you encountered! Stay blissful!
